Lori Sawyer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Movement Studies and Exercise Science
with a concentration in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. She then earned a Masters of Arts Degree in Exercise Science from Montclair State University in New Jersey.
After graduating, Lori took a position at Seton Hall University as an Athletic Trainer for two years. She then moved to Los Angeles to take a position as a staff Athletic Trainer at UCLA in 2001. While at UCLA, she traveled with the women’s basketball team and was directly responsible for the women’s tennis team and the 2003 national championship women’s water polo team.
Her focus as an Athletic Trainer has been on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and sports specific training. She has developed a well deserved reputation in the field for bringing athletes back from injury, quicker and safer than before. While at UCLA, she was certified in the Graston Technique for pain and injury management.
Since undergraduate school and throughout her career, she has trained people from every walk of life to help them improve their lifestyle and achieve their specific goals. Now, her lifestyle and goals have changed. She has created LS-Fitness, a personal training, nutrition and rehabilitation business that focuses on core strength while achieving your goals. When Jake was born she wanted to stay at home with her new son, she also didn't want to end her professional career...so MOMMY-MOVES! was born! Now with 2 beautiful boys (Jake and Chase) She runs the Mommy-Moves program and continues to teach classes, while working on building Kids-Move with Co-Owner, Mary Patterson. They are working on building a family fitness franchise! She is also working on becoming certified in the Tupler technique, a non surgical way to close diastasis recti, a common abdominal problem in women with children.
MARY PATTERSON, B.S., ED, CHHC
Co-Owner and Coordinator of Kids-Move!
Mommy-Moves! Instructor
American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer
American Council on Exercise Group Exercise instructor
Certified Pre-Kindergrten - Third Grade Teacher
Mary Patterson earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Services Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Penn State University. She moved on to further her concentration in Early Childhood Education by achieving my P-3 Certification from Jersey City State University. While working as an Early Childhood Educator, Mary became a certified personal trainer through the American Counsel on Exercise (ACE).
Falling in love with the fitness industry and teaching others how to live a healthy lifestyle, Mary decided to make a career change and dive into the fitness industry full time. Soon she was working as a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor in New Jersey. Mary received her training to practice Health Counseling from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories – combining the traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods.
Mary’s passions of working with children and families on health and fitness came together with the creation of Kids-Move!(www.kids-move.com). Kids-Move! has a powerful relationship with Mommy-Moves! (www.mommy-moves.com). Both companies have a hand on approach in PREVENTING obesity and inactivity in the United States. They have programs designed to work with schools, health care facilities, parents, children, and families combining nutrition AND fitness helping families create a healthy lifestyle from the start!
As a mother of two young boys (Wesley and Ryder), Mary knows and values the importance of raising a fit, healthy, and happy family. Families can be FUN! FIT! and HEALTHY!
Jen Vieth
Mommy Moves
Instructor, Mommy Moves
Stroller Fitness Manager
American Council on Exercise, Group Exercise Instructor
When Andrew was born on October 15, 2004, she decided that her family would play a more central role in her life. Jen continued to work for Merrill, but on a part-time basis from her home office. While only working 20 hours a week, this still proved to be a challenge; trying to find the balance between work and family. Again, exercise proved to be the focus that gave Jen her foundation to do both a bit of work and play. To keep her sane, she competed on a recreational level Sprint Triathlons, while continuing participating in her love of running, and step aerobics.
When William was born on August 10, 2007, she decided 2 boys needed her more than Merrill, so she resigned. It was through a ‘Free class’ coupon that Jen met the acquaintance of Lori and Mary. A couple of months later, Jen passed her American Council on Fitness (ACE) exam for Group Fitness Instruction to become a Mommy-Moves Instructor.

Kristy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University and
entered the world of Construction Management working for the largest Construction Manager/General Contractor in the country. She worked on various multi-million dollar projects in New York City including the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center, The Julliard School at Lincoln Center, and the first LEEDS certified/’Green’ residential building in the country. Despite her strong passion for the construction industry, Kristy decided to put her engineering career on hold after the birth of her son Jackson Thomas on August 1, 2007.
Kristy always enjoyed exercise and fitness and was eager to get back into a workout routine after the birth of her son. She found Mommy-Moves! while searching online for local moms’ groups and was excited to try a free class. After one class, she was hooked and decided to pursue her certification in Group Fitness Instruction. Although she often misses the days of hard hats and construction boots and talking shop with ironworkers and electricians, she is very excited to be a Mommy-Moves! Instructor and work with moms just like her.
